Vague fantasy setting, vague French flavour text.

The daughter of subsistence pig farmers.
Her older brother is possessed by Wild Magic when she's a young child. The circumstances are unclear, the results aren't: He's put down by a Church Knight after raising nature against their town.
Coupe is taken by the Church in payment, after trying to attack the Knight.
Raised primarily by the Church, limited (strained) contact with her parents. Given an education and trained as a soldier.
Currently in a middling officer's role, supervising a small team of soldiers involved in fieldwork. They track and deal with aberrations in the environment - and people, as necessary.

sword n board:
a trained knight in the fantasy sword and shield tradition. can fight on horseback and in heavy armor, but doesn't typically unless shit is really going down. probs not showing up in mail
knows how to work a shortbow and a crossbow, but not great with either. can grapple, fistfight, and improv as necessary. strong as fukk, high pain tolerance. in a traditional dnd sense she'd be a tank
scouting:
used to working in teams, some tracking and wilderness ability
anti-magic:
maybe axe all this idk
Why is your character a warden?
Coupe isn't a perfect person. Frankly, she's a dick. She's also extremely devoted to practical change, and has oriented her life around protecting others. Helping is her purpose, one she takes very seriously. She may be slow to shift her opinions, but she's both capable of and willing to try.
Coupe will be coming in with a hardline approach. Though it's my intention that this develop over time, her background is such that she'll be initially strict, and dismissive of some of the squishier aspects of emotional rehab.
Obviously, that's not ideal for the game setting! But I think it makes those moments of vulnerability between an inmate and her more meaningful as a result. It also gives her a little common ground with inmates from similarly harsh systems.
She'll do best with those who need a heavier hand, or who are willing to push back on her demands: Coupe has a tendency to steamroll disagreement, and could do with a reminder of the importance of things like 'compromise'. She's an advocate of hands-on work. Idleness, the devil, etc.
